Women's Ministry

Hello Friends,

2018 FALL WOMEN'S STUDIES:

As we press on this year, we can't help but observe that during these present times, in our country and in the world we’re experiencing a serious and more manifested unrest, the likes of which I’ve never seen in my lifetime. The Lord’s return has always been eminent, but it seems He is so close now.

All prophecy has been fulfilled to clear the way for Jesus to come anytime. We see the signs of the times plainly in the news, on every other piece of technology, on the internet, social media, You Tube ...

Israel and Christians alike are feeling it and knowing the times are crucial.

Jesus said in Matthew 10:7 - “And proclaim as you go, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Jesus said to His disciples:

Matthew 28:18-20 - 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

And then He said:

Matthew 10:16 - “Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.”

How do we reckon with this commission and the warning that goes along with it, as we go out our front door ... into our mission field and the increasing possibilities of being confronted with very real challenges to our life style of faith and our Christ-likeness?

In our fall session 2018, we will prayerfully hear from the Holy Spirit about the art of being a witness for Jesus to the lost.

Ideally in the world we will be in close contact with those who don't know Him as Savior. We are on the job together and sometimes side by side, with those who are very open and vocal about their non-Christian life style. We live next to one another. Our children play together. We have contact through social media, where it is way too easy to get caught up in heated conversation about things we're passionate about, that can misrepresent Jesus.

We will talk about how to communicate in a way that is pleasing to God, adhering to Scripture for answers.

As Paul the Apostle did, we pray for open doors to share with each lost person we meet, about what Jesus did to redeem us.

Colossians 4:3-5 - 3 At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— 4 that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak. 5 Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.

I hope you will plan to join us. If you've never been with us before, put it on your fall calendar in the month of September. Information concerning days and times will be forthcoming. We sincerely and warmly welcome you.

Sincerely,

Sherry Merrihew
